## Methodology

Each deal's own announcements, filings, court records and press reports were read through estate-fetch and stored whole (sha256 on every row). For every announcement, filing or report, seven questions were answered from its own words: buyer taking the licence, data licensed, price published, value a year, total value, year of the deal, the price and term in the source's own words. Every stated answer carries the sentence it rests on, checked against the stored text; 'not stated' means the announcement, filing or report read does not address the question. A deal with several announcements, filings and reports reads 'varies' where they disagree. 22 deals, 25 announcements, filings and reports.
