About Dataset Valuation

A small team that reads what data buyers, brokers and marketplaces publish as a price, and helps companies understand what their data might fetch.

The reason for this site

A figure for data can be a buyer's illustration, a listed or quoted price, or a winning bid read from a court record, and the board marks which where the page shows it. Telling them apart is the start of any honest valuation.

Who uses it

Founders, data owners and finance leads who have been approached about their data, or who want to know what it is worth before they are.

What it offers

A quote form built around one question, "dataset valuation",, usable on the page without an account; 3 supporting guides; cited figures (the table and its method) and every source those figures come from.

Things it does not do

  • We do not present an estimate from a buyer's page as an offer.
  • We do not ask for, hold or resell the data itself.
  • We do not pass a seller's details to a buyer without the seller's agreement.

Who stands behind it

Joseph Ellul-Turner, Director.

Questions

Questions about the site go to Contact or enquiries@datasetvaluation.com. Terms of use are on Terms, and how we handle data is on Privacy.

Our fee, agreed in writing before anything is shared: 12.5% of the deal when we act as the seller's exclusive agent, or about 10% when the data joins a bundle or pool. Any fee a buyer pays us is credited to the seller. No buyer, broker or marketplace pays to appear on this board.
